Introducing the 2015 Summer Interns!

Meet David!Current School: High School Senior Why are you passionate about education? I believe that education is important to our understanding of not only the world around us but also ourselves and how we should live our lives. Because everyone has a capacity to learn, all people should have access to a great education. I am impassioned to help ensure equity in education, to guarantee all people have equal opportunities. Favorite Summer Pastime: During the summer, I love to play tennis and basketball with friends at my local park.

Meet Sydney! Current School: Temple University Why are you passionate about education? I'm passionate about education because I want to make a difference in the lives of my future students, as my teachers have done for me.  As an early childhood and special education major, I believe that every student is capable of succeeding when given the proper direction and motivation. Favorite Summer Pastime: My favorite summer activity is working with kids.  I was a camp counselor for four years and attended camp since I was two years old!

Meet Doug! Current School:  Cornell University, School of Hotel Administration Why are you passionate about education? I believe that your educational opportunities shouldn't be limited by where you grow up. Practice Makes Perfect gives hardworking students the tools they need to succeed. Favorite Summer Pastime: Sailing on Crescent Lake in Maine!

Meet Irving! Current School: Cornell University Why are you passionate about education? Having experienced the effects of the summer learning loss myself and managing to make it through the NYC public school system and into a great college, I feel the need to give back in any way I can. Favorite Summer Pastime: Interning with PMP! Also, spending weekends with my family and exploring my city, especially the theater district!

Meet Ashea! Current School: College of Staten Island Why are you passionate about education? Education has always been a key priority growing up with an immigrant parent. Educational values and pushing to pursue education further than middle school was one of my biggest goals. I saw my parents struggle because they did not obtain a high school diploma or a degree in any sort of higher education. Through my life experiences, I've seen how far education can take someone and what happens without it. Favorite Summer Pastime: My favorite summer activity is to volunteer for the American Red Cross and the ACS (Army Community Service).
